With Purposeful Intent
For all intensive purposes, gelato is ice cream.
For all intents and purposes, gelato is ice cream.
This is another one of those expressions that, if you hear it but don’t see it written, can trip you up. In fact, this is one that tripped me up for many years. In the interest of full disclosure, I have included it.
[Note: While gelato is eaten like ice cream, it is very different, in that it’s much richer. It’s like ice cream × 10,000.]
